marvelous men poets
{ some of them anyway ~
more to come }
⋆
i’m still celebrating the fifth anniversary of my heart’s love songs and i decided to rerun the 2012 featured poet series which spotlights sixty of the most creative, talented, brilliant {really!} poets of our time. i have been fortunate over the five years to meet this amazing group of people through twitter and their blogs. not only are they writers who excite and enchant and entrance their readers, they are, one and all, nice people who are supportive of everyone in our online poetry community. the “age of technology” has, in fact, facilitated the spread of the ARTS! ~ poetry, photography, art, prose, music… i have friends i have yet to meet face-to-face from all around the world. day or night, you can visit their blogs and be transported to another time or place or frame of mind with just a few clicks of a mouse. i find it thrilling! and i believe you will find it equally thrilling to discover their words. i will be putting up these posts to reacquaint you with old friends and introduce you to new ones.
just click on the “Read More” links on each poem to be taken to a new tab or window to read the rest of the poem on the author’s blog. if you enjoy what you read, please leave a comment on their blog to let them know. { you don’t have to say you saw them here. } i am truly honored that these wonderful people agreed to be featured on my blog ~ my gratitude to them all.
and thank you for coming to the celebration ~ enjoy!

Twitter: @Aurinth
all of Chris’ poetry is superb, but my favorite is his haiku ~ he is a true master of the form. Chris has been very kind to me in his insightful comments at my blog, and i hope he knows how much i’ve appreciated it. in his own words ~
“I am a graduate of Michigan State University (Go Spartans!), and one of the many fresh, starving masses of grads with a BA in Journalism… I have been writing since I was little, and my greatest pleasure in life would be to spend my years as an author and a poet, creativity my only guide and only boundary. In the meantime, writing is my escape, and my blog, the host for my work.”

Vinay Ravindranath
aka Leo, the Amateur Poet
⋆
Leo is unique in my world ~ i met him when he wrote a review of my blog in 2010. i like him, not because he was so kind in the review { okay, that may be part of why i first liked him } but because he is a nice man who has always encouraged me in my writing, and an excellent poet and writer… i don’t understand how he came by the name “Amateur Poet” as that is sooooo far from the truth. you can find him on facebook HERE. Leo has a blog I Rhyme Without Reason. i love the quote he has there ~
“I write for the same reason I breathe ~ because if I didn’t, I would die.”
~ Isaak Asimov
a little about Leo in his own words ~
“… I rhyme without reason, coz my love for writing is unconditional. To me, writing is an art that I’m trying to perfect. I’ve been blogging since November 2006 and it wasn’t my first choice actually, blogging… I was brought to this beautiful world by a friend, and I’ve not looked back since.”

“It is late.” by Richard Cody
⋆
It is late.
It is late, I say,
And I don’t mean the time of day.
Though darkness is visible as I write,
And the windows rattle in their panes
As they do only at night.
It is late beyond the ability
of any clock to…..Read More
